> Grundy County Imported Fire Ant Demonstration
With the Grundy County Fire Ant Demonstration we had hoped to get a pesticide treatment for Imported Fire Ants on the label so that nursery producers would not have to do any further treatment before the nursery stock was shipped. The overall objective was to determine if pyrethroids applied at broadcast rates for other insects could eliminate imported fire ant (IFA) activity. If these rates are successful, it could reduce cost to the nursery grower and reduce the amount of potential pesticide exposure to workers, handlers, and the environment. (10/8/2003)
